Biography

For Will Kerscher, business school was the perfect opportunity to build a strong foundation in business before pursuing his medical degree. With his sights set on earning an MD and becoming a physician, he saw an opportunity to merge his interests in business and healthcare.

“I believe a knowledge of business is an essential skill in the healthcare field,” he explains. “Healthcare is fundamentally tied to business, and I believe that providing the absolute best care to as many people as possible requires a depth of knowledge of the business field.”

Choosing Goizueta was a natural decision. As an Emory undergraduate and student-athlete, Will was already deeply connected to the school’s community and mission and had seen firsthand the quality of education and career opportunities it provided. “When I discovered the Master in Management program, it felt like it was tailored exactly to me,” he says. “This program not only allowed me to pursue a business education but also gave me the chance to do so between the conclusion of my undergraduate studies and the beginning of my medical studies.”

Even with his familiarity with the university, one aspect of Goizueta still surprised him—its network. “While I knew I would be gaining access to a phenomenal alumni network, I had no idea how impressive and impactful that network would be. Goizueta has successful alumni in every field, across the world, who are always willing to help a fellow graduate out.”

For Will, Goizueta has been the ideal bridge between his passions for healthcare and business. As he prepares for a career in medicine, he knows his business education will help him navigate the complexities of healthcare and strengthen his ability to provide excellent patient care.
