Biography
For McKenzi Carter, teamwork, resilience, and strategic thinking have always been at the core of who she is. As a former college basketball player, she learned how to thrive in high-pressure environments, manage her time effectively, and uplift those around her. But as she looked ahead to a career in business, she saw an opportunity to broaden her expertise and gain a better understanding of the business world.
“I made the decision to attend business school to deepen my understanding of strategic decision-making and develop a broader skill set that supports well-rounded, informed leadership,” she explains. With a strong foundation from her undergraduate studies, she saw this as the perfect moment to build on her skills and knowledge. “I am using this gap before entering the workforce to strengthen my professional and personal growth.”
When it came to choosing the right program, Goizueta stood out—not just for its academic excellence, but also for its community. “The Master in Management curriculum and strong faculty were significant factors, but the people truly helped my decision. From the admissions process to now, I’ve been consistently surrounded by encouraging individuals who have made me feel confident in my choice to join Goizueta.” That sense of community proved to be even stronger than she expected. “What surprised me was how interconnected the Goizueta community is—everyone seems to have a connection or knows someone within the network. It truly feels like a tight-knit family.”
Beyond business school, McKenzi hopes to make an impact in the world of sports. “I hope to become a sport psychologist dedicated to helping college-level student-athletes overcome the mental challenges of their sports and reach their full potential, both on and off the field.” Her time at Goizueta is helping her build the skills to make that vision a reality.
