Biography

Amber O’Donoghue knew what she needed to help advance her career. With nine years of work experience, Amber wanted to stay within the world of marketing but needed to finetune and improve imperative skills. Being local to the Atlanta area, she found Goizueta’s One-Year MBA program to be a perfect fit. “I decided to pursue my MBA and knew that I would be able to achieve my career goals within one year. I knew that I wasn't doing a significant pivot into a different industry or a different field, and so I felt that the One-Year program was just the amount of time that I needed to really hone in on my skills and get this master's degree.”

While Amber looked to continue her career in marketing strategy and strategic brand partnerships, she discovered new opportunities and different career paths through the One-Year program. “I am still going to pursue a career in marketing strategy, but I'm also looking at ways that I can be entrepreneurial, looking into private equity and venture capitalism and things that I can do outside of traditional corporate marketing strategy.”

Amber’s MBA experience has allowed her to grow as a leader both in and outside the classroom setting. While her consulting background has helped on many team projects, she has also taken on many leadership opportunities such as the One-Year representative for the Black MBA and the president of the Association for Media, Entertainment and Sports. She has enjoyed sharpening her leadership skills, but her passion to be a strong leader was inspired by other women in the MBA program. “There are a ton of women who are leading organizations and clubs and killing it in their respective roles, so that is empowering and inspirational to me.”
